From their web site: "Founded in 1923, The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are the longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in the U.S. and the largest source of scholarship funds for young artists and writers.
Each year, ambitious students in grades 7–12 from across the nation and in American schools abroad submit more than 165,000 works of art and writing to be evaluated by visual and literary arts professionals, educators, and scholars."
Being a 1977 national-award-winning alumnus of this awards program, Buonacorsi Foundation president, Dr. Michael Doyle, continues to be an enthusiastic supporter of the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.
